differences between external temperature and ambient temperature

Hi
Could you tell me the differences between external temperature and ambient temperature in the boundary condition about heat flux of Conduction in porous media model?
Thanks.

Re: differences between external temperature and ambient temperature

Hi

there are several temperatures used in COMSOL, the best is to check the internal equations in the equations view to be 100% sure. But normally ambient temperature is the one used for reference (initial conditions, material reference etc) while external temperature for a fixed BC temperature condition is the one you impose on that boundary, or for a heat exchangne BC the one you use as refrence for the h[W/m^2/K]*(T-Text) definition

Good luck
