Content

The course introduces you to the simulation fluid flow with the COMSOL Modules `CFD Module´ und `Microfluidics ´. Starting from the fundamental balance laws of mass, momentum and energy in fluid dynamics you will learn a practical approach to efficeint modeling. The workflow includes geometry handling, physics, meshing, solving and postprocessing.

  • Selected Multiphysics Couplings (Transport Processes)
  • Nonisothermal flow and free convection (see Heat Transfer Course)

Speakers

Zoran Vidakovic
COMSOL Multiphysics GmbH, Zürich

Zoran Vidakovic received his BSc and MSc degrees in mechanical engineering from ETH Zürich, Switzerland. His studies and research projects focused on turbomachinery, heat transfer, fluid-
and thermodynamics and advanced energy technologies in general. In his master thesis at the Laboratory for Energy Conversion he numerically investigated the turbine performance and heat transfer of innovative cycle concepts for CO2 capture ready fossil power plants. Before joining COMSOL in April 2010 Mr. Vidakovic completed a six month industrial internship in the Aero-/ Thermodynamics R&D department of MAN Turbo AG Schweiz.

Dr. Eyal Spier
COMSOL Multiphysics GmbH, Zürich

Eyal Spier completed his PhD in Chemistry from ETH in 2013. His research centred on industrially applied oxidation chemistry, spectroscopic analytical methods, and quantum-chemical calculations using the density functional theory approach. He joined the team of COMSOL Zurich in the autumn of 2013.

Fee

The fee for this one day course is CHF 999. Feel free to ask for academic discount price (CHF 499). The fee includes printed course material, lunch and coffee. If you book several courses at once - discounts may be available upon request.


Cancellation/Return policies

Instructor-led training tuition is fully refundable if we receive written notification (via mail or e-mail) of cancellation on or before 14 business days prior to the class. Cancellations made less than 14 business days prior to class will be charged CHF 150. If you fail to show up to class without written notice, you will be charged the full tuition. You may send a substitute in your place to avoid a fee. If a training course cannot take place as scheduled due to circumstances beyond COMSOL's control, we will issue a full refund for the amount that you have already paid.
