2 Things: Circle segment + Electric Field (V/m) plot

Hi there,

I've just started using Comsol 4.1 and I'm a bit stuck here. It's rather a basic problem so:
What I need, is a circe segment. So I drew two circles and abstracted the smaller circle from the larger one.

Now all I need is, to split this circle into two objects. So I tried to use "delete entities" and picked the necessary boundaries. But it just deleted the entire model.

So, any idea how I can split this new circle into to or at least delete one part of it?

Second question I have:
When I use the ACDC model to simulate the electric field between to electordes the program just plots the electric potenial. How can I make it to plot the electric filed instead?

Hi

in 4.1 and 2D you can draw two circles (lets say more or less concentric), one inside the other, then if you go past the "FINISH" line these two geometrical OBJECTS are united and split automatically into two "ENTITIES" domain 1 & 2 with two boundaries one internal one and one external one (note on circles boundaries are often split into arcs of 1/4 circle, I consider these as "one" boundary here).

So you do not need to do more.

You can also do this manually: select union, select both items, execute, then select "split" and execute

You can use the Arrow plot in 3D plot to view the Electric Field.
