scale in models and results

hello,

i am brand new to comsol. i am curious about something i was discussing with a colleague after attempting to model something rather basic in the rf module. we were looking at the intensity attenuation in liquid media of uv light, in an object on the scale of centimeters. the spectra we are interested in is 300-400 nanometers in wavelength. the study was not producing results, and he supposed it was because the elements size of the mesh was far too large to capture the effects of light in the uv range.

is this possible? should i use comsol for this problem or should i be modeling in another software?

this seems like it should be a rather quick and easy question for someone with knowledge. anyone who can help me out with this, it would be much appreciated.

thanks,

henry
