October 23, 2014

The 10th annual COMSOL Conference Boston recently wrapped — and it was a huge success. The event brought together 300 engineers, researchers, and scientists from around the globe to hear the latest advancements in multiphysics simulation, including the much anticipated upcoming release of COMSOL Multiphysics 5.0.

The conference kicked off with a bang with an “Introduction to COMSOL 5.0” minicourse. This minicourse served as an informational and entertaining presentation to prepare attendees before heading into application-specific minicourses.

The three days were packed with learning opportunities. Attendees could choose from 30+ minicourses, sit in on presentations held by fellow COMSOL Multiphysics software users, and connect with one another. COMSOL developers and application engineers were there too, allowing attendees to get on-the-spot advice on their modeling projects and learn some tips and tricks.

It wasn’t all business — we had fun too! In true New England style, visitors from near and far got to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage along the Charles River with 70-degree weather (followed by 50°F the next day… That’s New England, for you). Together, we also explored greater Boston with a visit to historical Cambridge, home of MIT and Harvard University. After a guided tour of Harvard Square and the university, guests soon realized how special and iconic this landmark really is.
