rms current and solver.

Hello,

i have simple question; in the tutorial: skin depth on a cylinder; the surface current is applied on the surface with : J=-Itot/2piR,
what is Itot, is it Ipeak or Irms. i expect it is the peak current.

- also for a transient problem; i have to run for 10 s and the time step is 1mus. so the memory required to solve it is huge. Is there a prefered solver?

I'm not sure I understand you well, and I'm neither not sure I have the correct reference for your current model you talk about, but if you are in the "harmonic" mode then you develop the signals as amplitudes and phase of a "sinus" type wave of refequency "nu". Therefore it is the amplitude (0 to peak) and not the rms value, I believe you should refer to. THe bebst is to take a very simple known case and run that, so tat you can easily cross check with an analytical equation

Second if you have a 1 us step to resolve your case, I wounder why you need to continue to 10sec total, that is 1:10^6 quite a range. But again it depends on the physics you are modelling. Still my first thought is that you could probabaly simplify the model by considereing a harmonic development rather than a fully transient time dependent.
