Multiphysics Simulation of Transformers Web Workshop

September 16, 2026 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. CDT

Back to Events Calendar

Power transformers play a vital role in the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. Designing transformers that are both safe and efficient has become increasingly complex due to a continued increase in both power and voltage levels, along with external challenges like severe weather. This makes modeling and simulation including multiphysics aspects inevitable at the design stage.

The COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software makes it straightforward to model and analyze the performance under different scenario. In this event, we will demonstrate how the software can be used for electromagnetics and Multiphysics simulation of transformers under various operating conditions. The session will include a live demonstration of the software, followed by a Q&A to address your questions.

Speakers

Nicholas Snaith
COMSOL

Nick Snaith joined COMSOL in 2006 and is currently Senior Sales Director in the Burlington, MA, office.

Anselm Knobloch

Anselm Knobloch joined COMSOL in September 2024 as an applications engineer specializing in low-frequency electromagnetics. Before joining COMSOL, he worked on sensors and integrated circuits in both the automotive and semiconductor industries. Anselm holds an MS degree in electrical engineering.
