Simulation of a MOSFET with overlapping metal gates

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi, I would like to simulate the characteristics of a MOSFET with two aluminum gates: one is cylindrical and separated from a rectangular one by a piece of aluminum oxide. The geometry is shown in the attachment.

In the MOSFET application library example, gates and oxides are not actually defined inside the geometry, but in the Semiconductor module using components such as 'Metal Contact' and 'Thin Insulator Gate'. However, this seems to limit the geometries that one could create. How can I work around this? Thanks!
