Manually Prescribing Pinned Boundary Condition - 2D Modeling

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am modeling acoustic plane wave loading in 2D on a vertically positioned beam. I am attempting to apply a simply supported (pinned) boundary condition on both ends of the beam and unfortunately, I only have the acoustics physics module, which seemingly doesn't contain the boundary option.

I have read through some of the user's manual and forums and have the impression that I can manually apply this condition by applying weak constraints and writing out the equation. However, I am new to COMSOL and I am having trouble understanding the different equation parameters and well as how to successfully set the moment at the boundary to zero.

If someone could provide some insight or point me in the direction of some examples that would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Gerard
