anisotropic PML

Anyone know how to define anisotropic PML in comsol?
the default PMLs (cartesian, cylindrical and spherical) are for isotropic or anisotropic?

What's the point of doing PML anisotropic?

Usually to work correctly it needs to have the same material properties as the material it's connected to.

im also not sure.
i refer to journal, some of them mentioned they used FEM with anisotropic PML in their simulation.
They didnt explain why they want to use anisotropic instead of isotropic PML........
