deforming a ring

Hi,

I want to deform a hyperelastic solid. I have a ring and that ring will be pressed in a pipe. I simulated it in the structural mechanics module by "prescribed displacement". The displacement is calculated with a function at each point of the ring. In the result of the simulation the boundary of the ring isn't displaced as far as the displacement function has calculated. What's the problem? Or is it wrong to calculate it with "prescribed displacement"?

Hi

normally a prescribed displacement is applying forces to attain the desired displacement, so normally you should get what you ask for ;)
But sometimes one get fooled by the auto scale deformation settings, you can manually reset it to "1" to see the "true" displacement on your plot, with large displacements, the automatic feature can feel weird. I do not see what else it could be
