Abstract Submission Guidelines for the COMSOL Conference 2026 Boston

  • Submit and manage your abstract online using My Conference.
  • Your My Conference dashboard is linked to your COMSOL Access account and enables you to submit and manage abstracts, posters, slideshows, and/or papers, as well as view your registration and details about the minicourses.
  • If you do not already have a COMSOL Access account, you can create one during registration, abstract submission, or here.
  • All abstracts, posters, contest entries, slideshows, papers, and presentations must comply with, and are subject to, our Publication Notice Agreement. We strongly recommend that presenters obtain management approval in advance of submitting an abstract.

Guidelines for Preparing Your Abstract

For Paper & Poster Submissions

Title (100 characters max)

Abstract (500 words max)

  • In detail, describe the problem.
  • Describe your use of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software:
    • Mention the setup of the problem in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software.
    • Explain how add-on modules or LiveLink™ products (for example, the CFD Module or LiveLink™ for MATLAB®) supported your work.
  • Mention whether you are using any models from the Application Libraries.
    • If applicable, describe any use of the Application Builder, COMSOL Compiler™, or COMSOL Server™ in your work.
  • Summarize expected and/or obtained results.
  • State any conclusions or broad implications of your work.

Images & Captions

  • You can add up to 4 high-resolution images within your abstract. Please add captions to all images.
  • Please submit a thumbnail image (max width of 220 pixels) with a short caption. This will be used in the conference proceedings, which will be published on comsol.com/papers-presentations after the conference.

For COMSOL Innovation Contest Submissions

Title (100 characters max)

Abstract (500 words max)

COMSOL Innovation Contest entries should clearly explain both the technical foundation of the innovation and what makes it distinctive and impactful.

Please address the following:

  • The problem being addressed and why it matters within its field
  • What differentiates this work from existing approaches
  • How multiphysics simulation using the COMSOL Multiphysics® software was applied:
    • Describe the modeling approach and physics interfaces used
    • Explain how add-on modules or LiveLink™ products (for example, the CFD Module or LiveLink™ for MATLAB®) supported the work
  • Obtained and/or expected results, including key insights gained
  • If applicable, describe any use of the Application Builder, COMSOL Compiler™, or COMSOL Server™
  • The potential or demonstrated real-world impact of the work, such as:
    • Contribution to a new or improved product or process
    • Advancement of understanding within the field
    • Practical relevance today or in the future

Video (Required for COMSOL Innovation Contest only)

  • In under 3 minutes, provide a clear, concise overview of your work as described in the abstract.
  • The video should focus on the problem, approach, and key insight or outcome of your work, rather than video production quality.
  • Note: Videos longer than 3 minutes are less likely to be reviewed in full.
