COMSOL Multiphysics®, Surrogate Models, and Digital Twins Workshop for Northeastern

October 2, 2026 Boston, Massachusetts 12:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m.

Back to Events Calendar

COMSOL Multiphysics comes equipped with the features needed to create surrogate models and digital twins. The second session will cover these two topics and their associated workflows within COMSOL Multiphysics.

Starting with an existing multiphysics model, users can train a deep neural network to create a surrogate model. Once trained, surrogate models can run considerably faster than full physics-based models, making them well suited for applications that require rapid predictions. An app can then be created that uses the surrogate model to provide fast, accessible results.

These apps, often used as digital twins, can provide real-time feedback or support control of the physical devices being modeled. By combining physics-based modeling with the speed of surrogate models, digital twins can enable faster feedback and a greater degree of control than measurements alone.

Hands-On Session

To participate in the hands-on session, we recommend bringing a laptop to the event in order to get the most out of it. This will also allow you to start your free two-week trial license of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software right away. Unable to bring a laptop to the workshop? No worries; you can still follow along with the demonstrations.
