Pulse-Echo Ultrasound

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am investigating the propagation of ultrasound in narrow tubes with a view to detecting constrictions and blockages in human blood vessels. I have looked already at the models of ultrasonic transducers in 2D but wish to expand upon this in 3 dimensions and investigate the effect of bending also.

How does one define the directivity of an ultrasound source and get coupling between the mechanical vibrations of the transducer and acoustic pressure waves in 3D?

Any help would be much appreciated!
