Bearing with fluid film and lubricant analysis

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I am making a Comsol model to see the effect of electrical load on the lubricant and bearings (electrostatic effect), and for this I have made two rollers with 0.005μm clearance (see attached). I have specified a block for the clearance and selected its material to be engine oil.

However, I would like to run a multiphysics case by considering a stress on the top roller and its effect on the bottom one and how also speed of the rotation for both rollers impact the electrical effect.

Do you think this will possible and what should I do for the engine oil if I wanted it to be formed between the gap rather than be a block (currently can't do stress analysis as it requires me to provide young's modulus for the engine oil!)

Thanks in advance, Kamran
