COMSOL Firewall Port

Just had an issue trying to allow a remote user access to our COMSOL license server. License file states port 1718. However, he sent me an image mentioning port 1807 as well. After also opening port 1807 on our firewall, he was able to connect to the license server fine. I don't see any reference to port 1807 on the COMSOL site.

Hi

check how the flexlm is working, normally it opens one port for the "flexlm deamon" and one for the "vendor deamon" you can "hard" specify the port values for both (and you should as the port are dynamically set when you restart the licence manager, so if the default ones are already used the might change)

It's described in the licence manager's doc somewhere (use i.e "process explorer" and a "tcpview" from MS "sysinternals" to check how the daemons are running (on Windows, in Unix you have other equivalent tools)

Good luck
