Negative Strain Energy

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear Sir,

I am using Eigen frequency analysis (Solid Mechanics) of COMSOL MultiPhysics to simulate the vibration damper. It consist of hyperelastic material model for oil entrapped part.

I am getting negative strain energy function (J/m3) value in oil entrapped region. What does it mean. Is negative sign indicates the absorption of energy.

Kindly let me know.

Thank you.
Best regards,
Rajeev Kumar Singh
