Dear all,

Could anybody help such a beginner to install COMSOL?
I'm trying to install COMSOL with license on linux machine.
My collegue has left COMSOL installatrion files in a directory (I could not contact him now) and when I run "setup", the message says "FATAL ERROR (Can't run the COMSOL installer when current working directory is on the CD path") and the installation is aborted.

I would deeply appreciate if anybody help to figure out suca a beginner's problem.

Best regards,
Jae H. Park

you get the error message because you set your current directory to be on the cd [linux command pwd will give you your current directory so you can check it is also indicated usually in the terminal window
seems that comsol need to write temporary files on the working directory and cannot do so because it is on the cd..
the fix is easy
cd ~
and then run the install script typing the full path [ it should start like /media/comsol...or /mnt/...] depending upon the linux distribution you use and how you manage your removable media on it
at last comsol support will help you installing your distribiution should you enter into other problems
