volumetric heat generation

Hi, I have an issue with how to simualte volumetric heat generation. I need it for a biological application regarding heat generated by the brain via blood perfusion. Current corporate license does not include the bioheat transfer module, but does include heat transfer for solids.

Can this be accomplished using just regular Heat Transfer for Solids? (where heat is generated from every unit volume in the entity? one of the reasons we are trying out COMSOL is b/c CFDesign/ANSIS were not modeling correctly, they just had the heat source start at the middle of the entity instead of staying unform throughout, if that makes sense)

Or will we need the bioheat transfer module, which I believe includes blood perfusion as one of its options? Are there any examples of problems worked out involving the bioheat transfer module using the blood perfusion option or heat transfer in solids that involves volumetric heat generation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
