Silica Precipitation

I'd like to know how to achieve discontinuous precipitation of silica. My idea is to use the dissolution and precipitation of silica to change the porosity and permeability of the fractures, thereby achieving a discontinuous precipitation effect. I'd like to ask if this can be achieved.
