Fluid Thermal Transient Coupling

I am interested in using comsol to simulate flow of fluids in pipes and heat transfer from the fluid to solid materials surrounding the pipes. I have been able to make steady and transient conditions run when coupling the incompressible naviers stokes with general heat transfer, but am having trouble with turbulent flow. Here steady conditions will run, but transient conditions will not converge. Does anyone have any tips for solver parameters (assuming that this is the issue)?
Also I do not understand why there are two heat transfer modules along with the n-s module rather than one heat transfer module. Could I be missing something fundamental here which is the cause of my errors?
