Creating a reflective surface for wave propagation

I recently went over the wave propagation tutorial which I used to simulate the interference of light. I was having trouble figuring out the conditions that I need to make a surface reflective. I am looking to model a diffraction grating spectrometer which works on a principle similar to the Bragg diffraction.
