Simulating Subsurface Flows and Geochemical Processes with AMPHOS 21

AMPHOS 21 are experts in the nuclear waste disposal industry and in simulating waste mining. In this archived webinar, guest speakers Albert Nardi and Jorge Molinero of AMPHOS 21 discuss reactive solute transport, including the multiphysics coupling between subsurface flows and geochemical processes. Watch their demonstration on simulating a deep geological repository for radioactive waste management using COMSOL Multiphysics and PHREEQC, the most prevalent software application in use by the geochemical community.

These simulations can provide useful insights into geochemical effects, porous media flows, mining, oil and gas, geothermal, and water resources management.

PHREEQC is a Computer Program for Speciation, Batch-Reaction, One-Dimensional Transport, and Inverse Geochemical Calculations hosted by the U.S Geological Survey.
