Pryor Knowledge Systems uses Book on Version 4 to Guide New COMSOL Training Series in Troy, MI

One of our Certified Consultants, Dr. Roger Pryor, wrote a book about “Multiphysics Modeling using COMSOL 4” in February this year. The book covers multiphysics problems ranging from relatively easy to relatively difficult, from 1D to 3D. Now, Dr. Pryor’s book on COMSOL version 4 is used in his brand new COMSOL training series in Troy, MI.
Just as the book is divided into easier and more difficult problems, the new PKS training series is structured around introductory and advanced courses. If you have no experience in COMSOL Multiphysics at all, the “Initiation into First Principles COMSOL Multiphysics Modeling” course is for you. Before delving into modeling, the course will introduce Finite Element Modeling (FEM) and what it does. Then, students will learn how to create 1D, 2D, and 3D models using the book’s easier problem sets. The “Advanced First Principles COMSOL Multiphysics Modeling” course, on the other hand, begins with solving differential equations, then moves into the more difficult problems in the book. (The book, COMSOL Multiphysics, and any supplements necessary to the course will be provided by PKS for in-class use free-of-charge). In both levels, the class will be centered on a combination of theory-based and applied lectures as well as instructor-assisted model-building sessions.
Wanting to know more about this course, I spoke with Dr. Pryor, who said that the training series has been created to meet popular demand. “A lot of people have told me that they would like to be able to [create multiphysics models], and this training will be convenient to folks located in the Midwest,” said Dr. Pryor. Starting September, each course will be held in Troy, Michigan and is to run for two days, from 9am – 4:30pm, including breaks.
