Motion Designer

COMSOL, Inc. is seeking a full-time motion designer to join our Marketing department onsite in Burlington, MA.

Job Description

As a motion designer, you will be responsible for the conceptualization and implementation of short form video content that meet marketing strategies from concept to completion. You will work both independently and collaboratively to create informed solutions based on project needs. In this role, you will communicate with and work alongside various stakeholders including videographers, writers, graphic designers, web developers, marketers, and more.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution of our brand expression through video and motion — partnering with leadership to ensure alignment across all touchpoints
  • Support the teams in charge of social media, video content production, and marketing with digital video assets to meet their needs
  • Translate content strategies into visual stories that resonate with technical audiences
  • Develop storyboards for short form video content and motion graphics that align with marketing objectives and creative direction
  • Conceptualize, design, and create high-quality motion graphics, UI motion, animated sequences, and visual effects for video and digital content
  • Design and produce short form illustrative video content for organic social posts, social advertisements, blog post figures, and more
  • Help the video team edit and archive video projects, such as webinars and keynote talks, for both external and internal use
  • Manage multiple projects with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office
    • Especially Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Familiar with the basic principles of typography
  • Passion for keeping current with design trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Self-starter who works both independently and collaboratively
  • Effective at communicating conceptual ideas and design decisions
  • Willingness to receive feedback
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Curious, enthusiastic, and eager to work in the simulation software industry
  • Current eligibility to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship for employment-based visas will be offered for this position

Helpful Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in motion design, video editing, graphic design, or related field
  • Two years of experience in motion design and video editing
  • Experience working with 3D modeling and animation tools such as Blender and Cinema 4D
  • Graphic design, web design, and photography skills are a bonus
