Cable Modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics®

This is an online, comprehensive 4-day course for those looking to enhance their cable modeling skills using COMSOL Multiphysics®.
Understanding the thermal and electromagnetic behavior of high-voltage cables is key to their design. The COMSOL Multiphysics® software can be used to help identify if the cable will exceed the maximum allowable temperature, predict safe loading currents, and calculate the electromagnetic fields generated within and around the cables — while accounting for effects such as the skin depth and temperature-dependent conductivities, interference from other nearby cables, and realistic operating conditions, ensuring accurate predictions.
This course will develop key skills needed to model cables in COMSOL Multiphysics® using the Heat Transfer Module and the AC/DC Module, add-on products to COMSOL Multiphysics®. By the end of the course, you will be able to define cable geometries, apply material properties, select the appropriate physics interfaces and study steps for the model, and extract key outputs.
The program for the course features a combination of demonstrations, lectures, and self-guided hands-on training.
